Special Olympics 2012

Volunteers and Chaperones

Over sixty Olivet students volunteered at the Eaton County Special Olympics on Tuesday, May 8th.  It has become an annual event that students and chaperones look forward to every year and with sunny skies and hundreds of smiles, hugs, and high-fives, this year’s event was exceptional for everyone.

If you are still interested in attending Olivet Community Schools after the application window, please contact us and you will be placed on a waiting list. We will accept applications through the first Friday after Labor Day in September, which is Friday, September 7, 2012.
Questions regarding Schools of Choice should be directed to Teresa Montague, Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent at (269) 749-9129, Ext. #2704.

 

Superintendent Search

The Board of Education will conduct the interview of Mrs. Brooke Judd, a candidate for the district superintendent of Olivet Community Schools on June 11, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. in the high school library. Mr. Dick Dunham, the district's search consultant from MASB, will facilitate the interview. The public is invited to attend.

It has been a tradition at OHS for parents of graduating Seniors to sponsor a "Senior Send-Off" event to promote a safe, alcohol and drug free graduation night. This event allows the seniors a place for closure and celebration in a memorable and safe environment. This is a gift that the parents give to the seniors with your help. Our goals this year is to support the 135 graduating seniors for this event. Among the many fundraisers we are initiating, we are also asking for corporations and businesses to help us in our efforts. In appreciation of supporters, each senior will be given a t-shirt listing all sponsors.

Inclement Weather Information
In case of extreme weather conditions when regular education buses are not traveling the roads, Special Education buses will also not be running.  Other out-of-district runs may be cancelled also.  To receive information regarding school closings, please tune into the following stations before calling our office.  This will help keep the phone lines open for emergency calls.
