Our elementary students are taught and nurtured by 26 professional
staff, who are deeply committed to helping each of them be successful
students. Six secretaries, custodians, and food service staff keep the
elementary school running smoothly and efficiently. Fifteen
para-professionals provide individual attention to our students and
assistance to our teach.
The staff at F.P.E. focuses primarily on
developing students' literacy and mathematics skills. Team-taught
multi-age classes as well as traditional self-contained classrooms are
designed to meet the needs of all students. We are also proud to offer
full-day Kindergarten. A full-time elementary science teacher provides
quality science instruction for our elementary students. Our full-time
elementary Student Support Coordinator works with students and families
in need, as well as coordinates our award-winning character education
program.
A child-care program, both before and after school, assists families
with that need.
A pre-school class funded by the Michigan School
Readiness Program serves at-risk 4-year-old children. Elementary
students are exposed to various career options through our Career
Preparation programs.
The elementary school has a fully equipped
computer lab and each classroom houses at least two computers for
student use. As the school song says, "F.P.E. is the place to be"
for our district's youngest students.
