Olivet High School, constructed in 1992, has approximately 410 9th through 12 grade students and is connected to our middle school. In the spring of 2005 we celebrated the opening of our new auditorium facility. It provides an outstanding forum for our band, choir and drama programs. Olivet High School has 26 professionals and seven support staff that are focused on working together to provide the best possible educational environment for our students.
Olivet High School is ‘Accredited with Recognition” by the State of Michigan based on our MEAP scores. Olivet continues to perform well on the state standardized test, MEAP, and meets AYP annually.
Our academic programs are comprehensive and rigorous. Students are required to take four or five credits in each of the core subject areas. In addition, courses in the fine arts, foreign languages, technology, computers, physical education, and health are offered. Our relatively small high school has a comprehensive academic program that includes many high-level courses such as Statistics and Probability, Trigonometry, Calculus I, Calculus II, Chemistry, Physics, Anatomy and Physiology, Advanced Human Biology, Research and Composition, Introduction to Programming, and Advanced Computer Technology. In addition, 10-15 students take courses at Olivet College each year. Students can take classes over the Internet through Michigan Virtual High School enabling them to take Advanced Placement courses that we are unable to teach due to our small size. Olivet High School is part of the Battle Creek Math/Science Center program for mathematically or scientifically gifted students. In addition, between 60 and 80 students attend the Calhoun Area Technology Center each year for more specific training in areas such as computer networking, law enforcement, 21st century health careers, construction, and many other programs. Our high school is well equipped technically and has a computer network consisting of over 100 computers
