Olivet Student Generosity
This Christmas, we have seen so many generous individuals thinking about and giving to others in need. The students at Fern Persons Elementary School donated hats, mittens, and personal care items for the Olivet Good Neighbor Christmas baskets. The Olivet Middle School students and staff collected food items and hats and mittens that were donated to the Charlotte Siren Shelter for families who are victims of abuse. Olivet High School students and staff had a coin drive that netted $1,018, collected food items and unloaded donations of Campbell's soup from Curt and Cinda Yancy (Ashley Sheldon's parents) for the Olivet Good Neighbor Program. The entire staff at Olivet Schools also had the opportunity to donated to Toys for Tots sponsored by the U.S. Marine Corp. Once again, students and staff at Olivet Community Schools have exhibited the district's mission and values of Respect, Honesty, Responsibility and Kindness. Thank you so much!

“Kids on the Move” at Olivet Middle School
Kids on the Move is a group of young ladies dedicated to becoming healthier week by week. Last week the girls ran the halls of Olivet Middle School stopping at “stations” of stair climbing, jumping jacks, push ups, deep knee squats and even a little bit of basketball dribbling. Thanks to Mary Barkley, Suzy Turner and Kelly Wine for organizing this event and to all the volunteers who manned the stations for the girls. With music playing, volunteer encouragement, and a healthy snack at the end, fun was had by all.
